life is looking good!

Tonight we got a contract signed on our rental house. The couple isn't moving in until June but they paid for May's rent that way we would hold the house for them! How great is that?! Super fantabulous! Originally we thought we would have to replace the carpet in that house, $250 later I am thrilled to say that we an amazing carpet cleaner! That carpet looks nearly brand new! I know this house isn't a mansion but I think it's cute! Perfect for a young couple!

Also tonight we swung out by the ranch to look into what it's going to cost us to board a horse. I'll be teaching lessons 2hrs a week and cleaning my own stall and getting more than 50% of board, works for me! Not only do I get to have a horse again but I get to teach kids how to ride and I think that's an awesome thing! So this Sunday we're loading up and heading to the horse auction, I can't wait!!!!! Horses have been selling for under $500 so I'm hopeful to find a fabulous deal. Can't wait to share photos!

This is a picture of one of the last horses that I sold, his name was Blue. This was my stallion, my project horse. To date he has thrown all gray babies and that's with 6 breeding seasons! I bought this baby when he was 4 months old, I sure wish I would have been able to keep him! (he's 2yrs old in this picture)

argyle style

This is me & my sister, Emily, she's getting married!!!!!
I travelled down to her town and was able to meet all of her friends and participate in the festivities of the night for her bachelorette party! Her friends did a fabulous job of decorating and spoiling her, and Em did a fabulous job of being the bachelorette!
There were scorecards for us to follow, 9 holes (pubs). There was a certain drink that we had to get at each stop, and the "par" meant how many drinks it needed to take you to finish it.
Make sense?
It was tough that was for sure! I'll admit that I was glad when Em decided 7 holes was enough for her and she was ready to go home and pass out!
Aren't our outfits cute?

weekend recap

busy busy busy!!!!
Friday night we dropped my oldest son off with his dad, then went to a bar/grill that is owned by some family friends of ours.... tacos & beer = delicious!
The husband and I were both sleeping before 10, does this mean we're old?

Then Saturday we got up and went to watch Logan play soccer, kiddo scored 4 goals!

after the game we came back home and I mowed the yard, then we got busy with my little brother's senior prom stuff.
Here's a picture of him & his girlfriend, aren't they adorable? Hard to believe that they'll be off to college in a few months!

After taking prom pictures we headed to a little town in MO, very quaint place, I love it! Antique shops, mom & pop type of places.... fabulous!

this town happens to be located right next to the river, there is a huge park that we can go play in, and a sidewalk going along the river, you can also jump down to the sandy beach that is right on the river, it's awesome! Great for summer evenings!
We walked through the street looking for some place to eat that had a patio, we passed a few things like this.... this one was a french bistro and the menu had way too many things on it that we had never heard of so we thought it best to just keep moving!

Until we found this cute little place

there were even tiki torches!

even Riley thought we'd chosen an excellent spot!

to end the night we posed with this fabulous man! :-)

Sunday we woke up early and headed over to the house we own to get it cleaned up for some new tenants. Lots of cleaning, HUGE yard to mow... so not fun. Then I met my sister to help her pick out some center piece stuff for her upcoming wedding. And of course settling down and trying to wrap the weekend up with baths for the kids and early to bed!
It's going to be another busy week for me with school so postings may be few and far between!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

update

As an update, I met with my lawyer today. Life is gonna get rough, and expensive. But in the long run it will be worth it. Lately Logan has been extra lovey dovey to us and repeatedly saying that he wants to stay with me forever. Tuesday night I dropped him off at his dad's house and he chased me back to my car whining about how he wanted to stay with me... breaks my heart. I'm working on it bud, just hang in there! Thanks for the positive thoughts...

failing

Have you or do you ever feel like you are trying and trying and no matter what you do you're still failing? That's where I'm at these days. School is going fabulous, my husband is still working, we have a ton of yard work that we've gotten done, Logan is doing excellent in soccer, Riley is once again sick but that's become somewhat in the norm. My family is doing great, and then the ex comes in the picture again. I can try and try to make things work between us but it just doesn't work. I have a couple of close friends and I am very close with my husband but I feel like I can't even talk to them. I'm all alone in this horrible "place" that I'm in and it's one of the worst feelings I've experienced. We will end up back in court before long, I have to meet with my lawyer this week. I just don't know what to do. I'm at that place in life where I feel like the world hates me, my family hates me, that place where I finally felt like I was on top of the world and then it crashed down around me with one phone call... the cruel things that people can say about you, it's awful and heartbreaking... Sorry for such the downer of a post... to my readers, comments are nice but please don't leave any hurtful ones as I just can't deal with it anymore!

Life is Good

Yesterday I had my first test in my Pediatric course, scored a B... rockstar I am!
I came home from class & mowed the yard for the first time this season, oh how I'm not looking forward to having to keep up with the grass.
After mowing the husband and I had a few beers and threw washers while the kids collected rocks. Then we "hiked" to Burger King for dinner (I say "hike" because it's pretty much in our backyard! lol)

This morning we woke up to fabulous weather! Logan had a soccer game and scored 6 goals! He's definitely gonna be our star athlete!
Tonight we're heading out to the city to meet up with some friends, it's my besties birthday celebration, I can't wait! I'm in a dancing mood - watch out! Um yeah, my dancing skills aren't so hot... at one point my husband compared me to Elaine off of Seinfeld....
I swear that my dancing isn't that bad! LOL
As of right now, I'm sitting in my reclining lawn chair on my front porch watching Logan ride
his bike around with some kids from the neighborhood.
He went down all by himself and introduced himself... what a big guy!

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend, I know I am!!!!!

some of the best times

this is one of my favorite pics, to me it shows exactly what I was like as a teen. I know I look like a dork, that hat... wow... and check out those tapered jeans, hot!

This little lady walking next to me is Barbie. Nearly all of my childhood memories include her. Isn't she beautiful?
I know that in the eyes of fellow horse people she is built all wrong, high tail set, slightly sway backed, big ears, but this little lady is completely beautiful in my eyes. She could run like the wind, turn a barrel on a dime, and weave a set of poles like nobodys business!
About 3 years ago my awesome husband bought me another mare, just happened to be Barbie's daughter. Imagine my excitement! That excitement quickly turned to disappointment when we realized Miss Kat (the new horse) was a complete & total _-I-T-C-H!!!! She lasted in our family for about 3 months and then hit the road.

Now this horse, Mo Pep, is just about my absolute favorite horse. BTW I should add that I've had a total of 17 horses. I did quite a bit of barrel racing through middle & high school. This guy took me through high school rodeo and quite a bit of 4H. Sadly this guy got sold as a result of my first husband & our first house. :(

Now onto the exciting part of this post. My husband and I have decided to add to the family...not with another child but we're finally adding a horse to our family! This has been the part of my life that I've been missing and I absolutely cannot wait to have it back! Horse prices around here are sooo cheap it's ridiculous, people are just giving horses away! Within the last month a friend of mine bought a 6 year old paint stallion, fabulous bloodlines, broke to ride, easy to handle - $125.00 Ridiculous!

We are heading to a registered horse auction on May 2nd and I have full intentions of coming home with a horse! I'm so excited!!! Can't wait to share the pics!

run much?

yeah me either... but damnit I'm trying! I took the little guy & my little Boston on a walk this morning, I ran 1/2 a mile!!!! I know "1/2 a mile - woopie" but seriously this is a HUGE accomplishment for me! I didn't stop once! Heck I was even dragging the Boston part of the time! LOL Watch out marathons here I come! Okay maybe I'll bring it down a few notches, lets just start with the 5K!
