wedded bliss

This Sunday will be mine and the misters 1yr anniversary, it's hard to believe that a year has gone by already! Though it's definitely been busy between school, having a baby, yada yada... it's definitely been a blessed year! I'm still madly in love with my honey, he still gives me butterflies, we still go out of our way to spoil each other, it's perfect - I couldn't ask for anything better.

Tonight we've actually managed to get a sitter for a few hours, all so that I can go to the bar with the hubby and his fellow construction co-workers... this was supposed to be everyone bringing their wives, but I'm getting the impression that I'll be the only one... oh joy! I can feel that I'll be put on the spot a few times... I guess for those that don't know, about 2 months ago I had to "drag" my drunk husband out of the bar, he was there after work with the guys and sort of lost track of time, or forgot how to use his phone, or some sort of drunken excuse. Anyway, the only thing these men have seen of me was being extremely pissed off escorting the hubby out with me, and as the guys who witnessed this like to say, he had his tail tucked between his legs.... so needless to say, I'm sorta nervous!

I don't feel like I have much to blog about, partly due to I feel like I'm talking to myself and what fun is that? I am getting overly anxious to get our house on the market, I just can't wait to move and get out of this damn town and move on to the next chapter in life!

Oh and for anyone who does read this, the baby's doctors appointment went well. He has the shape of a head for a certain disease, I'm not sure of the name but most people with it are significantly more intelligent than the average person. X-rays showed that the necessary elastic is all the way around his head, proving that the shape of his head is not caused by the disease but by genetics. Luckily the finger was pointed at the hubby, and as he said, "just another reason for him to hate me when he's older!" LOL

Have a good weekend everyone!

Yet another meal....

one-pan chicken and potato bake

4 pieces of chicken (recipe calls for w/bones, but I used boneless & it was fine)
3 med. potatoes cut into thin wedges
1/4c Kraft Zesty Italian dressing
1/4c Kraft grated parmesan cheese
1tsp Italian seasoning

Preheat oven to 400. Place chicken & potatoes in 13x9 baking dish. Top with dressing, sprinkle with cheese, sprinkle with italian seasoning. Cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour or until chicken is cooked through, removing foil after 30 minutes.

I got this recipe from http://www.kraftfoods.com/, finally tried it tonight and got good results!

Enjoy!

Tonight's Dinner

I saw this recipe on someone else's blog yesterday and decided to try it. Unfortunately I can't remember who's blog it came from, so I apologize for not giving you credit! Also, I'm not real "blog smart" so I'll have to type out the recipe instead of adding the attachment!

I made this dinner tonight, it was SOOOOO delicious! I of course did NOT tell hubby that it had artichokes in it until after he told me how good it was! You should definitely try it! I personally am not a big fan of artichokes and I still loved it!

Artichoke Chicken
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast
15oz can of artichoke hearts
1/2c sour cream
1/2c mayo
3/4c grated parmesan cheese
1 pinch of garlic pepper
bread crumbs
paprika

Preheat oven to 375. Mix sour cream, mayo, parmesan cheese, and garlic pepper together. Chop artichoke hearts and combine with mixture. Lightly season chicken with salt and pepper, then place in a greased pan. Poor mixture evenly over chicken. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and paprika. Bake for 30 minutes.

I made this with egg noodles, absolutely delicious! Enjoy!

ALSO, I made some changes to the recipe, those came from the readers ratings of the recipe on http://www.allrecipe.com/

Pray for Baby Boy

Tomorrow my baby boy goes to the neurosurgeon (you know, "McDreamy") to look at his little head. The bones haven't formed/developed/closed right... something like that. Just pray that we don't have to have surgery.... this child is the happiest baby ever, he makes motherhood so rewarding!

L-O-N-G way to go

I have just 103 days left until my cruise, a.k.a. my honeymoon. I recently had a baby, well he'll be 5 months old this Thursday, does that still count as recently? For the sake of my feelings I'm gonna go ahead and vote yes! Ok back on track, so I bought this work out video "The Ultimate Fat Burner Workout". Today was my first day giving it a try, let me just say, HOLY SHIT! It's a 40 minute workout, I think I made it through maybe 20 minutes when I gave in.... mind you at this point I was dripping sweat and my thighs were burning! I guarantee that I will barely be able to walk tomorrow, I'm already dreading that feeling! Those of you who have had babies know about the inevitable "muffin top" and the "blubbery" look to your stomach and for those lucky enough on our thighs too..... is it possible to get rid of this and be bikini-bod ready and make my husband go crazy over me in just 100 days? I sure hope so else I'm doomed!

On another note, why do the workout girls face the camera? I understand that it's a lot better of a view instead of staring at asses that look far better than mine for the entire workout but for those of us who are not exactly coordinated, it'd be a heck of a lot easier to follow along with the video if they were atleast going in the same direction as me!

I imagine this is what I'll look like before my cruise! ha! There's always hope right? :-)

a friendship like a fine wine....

it just keeps getting better and better with time! I have these 3 friends, they're amazing! We've been through so much, grew up together, and some how have managed to remain close even while we all went down our own paths. I got to have dinner with them tonight, all of us had our families there, it was so nice! The most humorous part of the night was the mother of two of these friends was sitting back listening to us talk, she put her hand on her chest and said "oh my lord, my girls are talking about furniture!" Just two years ago we were sitting around talking about what bar we went to the night before! So girls, it's been 13 years now.... I'm so glad that you were the ones I got to spend my days cleaning up horse shit, chasing cans with, talking boys "oh Daniel!", party with, and now share my family with.... love you!

The "Wild" Saturday Night

consisted of popcorn, a movie, a few beers, and almost exactly at midnight the hubby began snoring! Seriously, are we this old already? So I'm sitting up alone watching "The Trouble with Angels", has anyone ever seen this? This was one of my faves as a kid, that and "The Worst Witch" - that's the next movie on my list to buy. So along with my movie I'm eating the Nerds that my son gave me for valentines, what a sense of humor he has! LOL

Tonight I got a text from our tenants saying that the pilot light needs relit, seriously, you're a man, light the damn thing yourself! I know that we should be thankful, in todays economy we are blessed to own two homes and to have one rented out, BUT, the tenants are our friends and all he does is brag and brag and brag about what a manly man he is, how he can do anything, build anything, blah blah blah blah blah.... but you can't light a freaking pilot light?! Sorry about your luck, but you're waiting until morning for hot water! UGH! I'm probably most irritated about this because just 3 months ago they didn't pay an ENTIRE months rent! And no, they aren't paying extra each month to get caught up! That is my husbands fault though, he's too nice..... but seriously, we let them skip a months rent, we went and put plastic up on their windows, we set mouse traps for them (which btw if they'd mow the freaking yard once in awhile there would be no mice!)..... I just want to sell the damn house and get away from these people! Moral of the story...... don't ever rent to friends, it ruins the friendship!

Here's some pics of my adorable baby, it's hard to believe that in just 5 days - er correction - 4 days, he'll be 5 months old.... time is going way too fast!

I love how he sleeps with his butt in the air! Too cute!
my men.... minus 1
seems like just yesterday he couldn't hold himself up in this!

wow - cleaning spree!

I have no clue what got into me but I just cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more! Even got the paint out and touched up our trim! Woo! Last night I made manicotti for dinner, and cookies afterwards... Susie Homemaker? Maybe, just maybe!

Have a great weekend!

blog just to blog

well I'm here today with both kids, Logan's eye looks too awful to send him to school. I made sure to text a picture to his dad, to let him know that his son has definitely taken after him! Luckily everything seemed to go well and we both saw the humor in it! All morning Logan has been torpedo-ing (sp?) off of things, his bed, the couch, little chairs, nothing... no matter how many times I remind him that we should do that, he continues to do it! My hubs reminds me that this is the same kid who before he was 2 would superman off the couch onto the floor (or in some cases the dog).... guess we have a little dare devil on our hands!

I'm looking forward to this weekend, hubs doesn't work on weekends anymore!!!! :) Logan goes to his dad's so it sorta like a weekend with just the 2 of us, oh, and the baby. I love my kids to death but I desperately miss the time with just me and my hubs. The date nights, sleeping in late just so that we could cuddle.... these days there is no sleeping in late, hell there's no sleeping in at all! I miss the sporadic things we'd do, like heading to the casino, late night movies, weekend getaways.... I wouldn't trade my life for anything, though it'd be nice to get an evening or two to ourselves.... a babysitter just isn't available!

On a brighter note! I'm still loving my tattoo, here's the picture from right after it was done!

Another Day in Paradise!!!

So here I am enjoying another day at home with my kids... Baby boy has RSV so we're dealing with the joys of breathing treatments! I just "woke" Logan (the 5yr old) up for his "nap" - aka - time to jump around the room because he is SURE that I can't hear all of those thumps.. anyway, back to the point, I get Logan from his room and his right eye is almost completely swelled shut and already turning purple! I asked him what happened, and of course the reponse I get is "I don't remember!" Kids.... so my biggest issue with this is that Logan goes to his dad's for the weekend tomorrow. His dad is the type of person that will see a scratch or bruise and try and say that I'm abusing him. For 5 years I've lived in fear of my ex trying to take our son away from me. It probably got this bad for me because of how ugly our divorce was. Logan would go to his dad for the evening or a weekend and his dad would call me or text me and let me know that I would never see my baby again... those were tough days and luckily they're behind us, but I'm still fearful for what pain he will try and cause me again. So I have Logan sitting on the couch with a bag of ice on his eye, hopefully it looks better by tomorrow! Wish us luck!

So instead of doing dishes, washing bottles, cleaning house, or baking cookies, I spent my afternoon browsing peoples blogs! It was tons of fun reading about people and their kids/babies, but I swear all I could find were blogs with people expecing babies. Where are the people with 2 kids and one of the kids is mouthy as can be? Where are the stressed out moms? Where are the people who just want to vent a little?

Anyway, so instead of doing my supermom duties today, I slacked and chose the web world instead. The kids are still alive, though one is sorta damaged, the dogs are fed and dinner will be done before the hubs gets home! I must thank you Liz for adding yet another web addiction to my list!

What a great day today is turning into - and it's only 9:30! I dropped Logan off at school so he's busy having fun at his Valentines party! Got him signed up for soccer... come home to check my online banking... tax return money is in the account!!! WOO HOO! And to top it off.... it's $600 higher than it's supposed to be! So, do I spend the money or just sit on it?

Hopefully everyone will have a great love day tomorrow.... as for me, my hubby and I will be sitting in a tattoo shop getting some new ink... nothing says love like getting tattoed together! LOL

My Intro... maybe lame?

Normally you'll find me on Facebook or Myspace, but a fellow blogger has convinced me that I should start a blog. The #1 question on my mind is do I have anything worth reading about? Do I have an exciting enough of a life? Possibly to the fellow moms out there, or to other students, but I'm still in doubt! So Liz, this blog is for you, and if no one ever reads it I will totally understand!

I am the mother of 2 amazing little boys, and I'm the wife of the worlds best husband.... and not because I'm biased but because it's a fact! I've been married twice (not my proudest achievement but one I've learned the most from), my oldest son has 6 grandmas (how many people can say that?), I have 2 sisters and a brother, I have 2 dogs, a cat, and in my opinion there is always room for more however if you ask my husband he'll tell you absolutely not! My 1 year anniversary is in 17 days, it's been one of the most exciting years of my life! We're taking our honeymoon in 114 days, a Caribbean cruise, I cannot wait! Most exciting thing happening right now is we're putting our house up for sale.... market is shitty for the sellers but for the buyers it's amazing, and we're ready to buy!

Hmmm.... some weird things, and most people won't care, I have a 5yr old who can't poop... seriously, he takes medicine that makes him.... I have a dog that absolutely LOVES to eat poop... seriously the most disgusting thing ever but she's still adorable.... I hate my cat but she keeps the mice away.... A few years back I owed $29,000 on a car that was only worth $13,000 -yeah those dealers saw me coming from a mile away! My husband has taught me so many things about me, and he's helped to show me how strong of a person that I'm really capable of being....

Yeah, so um, that's about it.... I have no clue what this blog will be about. Maybe I'll bore people with stories of how happy I am, how in love I am, how perfect my kids are (ha!).

But most important to me, is that through the tears and heartaches, I've found my happily ever after!
