I would go with a pretty sort of either topiary or some sort of fir, that doesn't have a wide spread so that you can flank the window- or at least put something tall on the outside of the window. It would also hid your hose reel that way. One of the things that bothers me about landscaping is that people often don't plan for the size of the house. they put in little plants which look even littler next to a big house.
