Logan (my 5yr old) tested positive today with the Swine Flu. The poor kid has such a high fever it really freaks me out. We're talking 103.6 range, very scary. He's absolutely miserable and of course sad that he can't go to school. I feel bad for him because this Thursday is his first field trip and the rate he's going he'll be lucky to go back to school by then.... wish us luck that the rest of our family can remain flu free!

started the weekend off meeting my classmates at a local bar for some drinks... c/o of '99s 10yr reunion

and while we were out we were lucky enough to run into another couple that I just love!

then Saturday was the little man's 1st birthday!!!!! We rented this awesome moonwalk!

How many people out there keep in touch with girl friends? Or, how many people actually have any girl friends? Growing up I had a TON of female friends. Then in 8th grade... I know sounds lame.... but seriously, I showed up at school one day in the 8th grade and none of my friends would talk to me. They started barking at me, calling me names, and never talked to me again.... seriously, not until our senior year. These were girls that I had spent the last 4 years being as close as we young girls could be. It wasn't until my senior year when I finally asked one of the girls what ever happened back then. You know the answer....? In all honesty here is the answer, "because you didn't play sports, you rode horses". Are you kidding me? Because I opted to live my dreams with my horses meant that we couldn't be friends anymore. This same group of girls are all still very close to each other. In a way I think that it's sad. Have they grown up at all? Are they still the same "clique" that they were 10 years ago? I sure hope not!

Anyway, on to the point of this. I think that those days were the days that made me realize I didn't want any female friends. Girls were shady, conniving, b*tches! I had absolutely no use for these types of relationships. Even in my adult life I have found that most females I have befriended have been a "waste" of time. I have good memories from them but there are a lot of bad memories that just remind me of WHY I am done devoting time to these relationships!

Now now... guess that was harsh. I have a few lady friends that mean the world to me.... but they are very few! (love you Jen & Shannon!)

I guess there was a point to this. Sometimes I wonder if this blog has turned into my journal (duh wasn't that point?) But seriously, you ladies are my friends! Maybe it's because if you judge me you aren't telling me! lol But you all let me vent and dream or whatever I feel like doing and no one jumps in and tells me to quit my whining! And none of you bark at me! lol

Anyway, thanks for being my "people".... love my bloggie friends!

We put an offer in last night and it was accepted! We're even getting a fence (the one in the picture is the neighbors), a home warranty, our closing costs paid, and the carpets cleaned! Woot Woot!!!!

Scary part is that we move in just 16 DAYS!!!!

Now just imagine some work being done to these trees so you can actually SEE the house!

this is soon to be my entrance, I absolutely love it!!!! Can't wait to get in there and put some color on the walls and some fall decorations up! Finally, my first "grown-up" house!

how to decide?

Here is house #1. We saw this beauty today. Yes I know the color is awful and the trees sorta take the place over, but that's all cosmetics. The downfall to this house is that the driveway is at about a 40-45 degree angle! There is a backyard, not a great one but it's not the worst either.

this baby offers an eat in kitchen, formal dining room, family room, formal living room, master bedroom, 3 additional bedrooms upstairs, 2 1/2 baths, separate laundry room, HUGE basement, 2 car garage.

did I mention that the master bedroom has a walk-in closet, his/her sinks, whirlpool tub, separate shower & toilet.... all on the 1st floor.

And then there is house #2. FLAT driveway, nice back yard (not huge but still nice). 4 bedrooms but one is down in the basement, eat in kitchen but table space is small, family room, and rec room in basement. 2 car garage.

here is the master bath, his/her sinks, walk in closet, but no tub - only a shower.

nice kitchen, lots of cabinets.... just hate that there isn't much room for a table. The table you can see in the corner is pressed against the wall.

it's finally here....

I guess technically fall isn't here for another 2 days or so..... but it's at least starting to look like fall! These aren't pictures that I've taken, these are all courtesy of google.com, but while doing some shopping today the hubs and I got to view a few of these beautiful trees. I LOVE this time of year. Beautiful leaves... pumpkin scented candles... fall decorations... Halloween... Thanksgiving (my fave!)... pumpkin patches... corn stalks...

Yesterday I blogged about needing a new roof.... here's what actually was said/typed....

a new roof cap for the hot water heater....

yeah, all I saw was new roof, cap for hot water heater. Apparently the realtor really meant to leave that comma out (silly me for trying to edit her text) and the item is really a roof cap for the hot water heater!!!!! Thank the Lord!!!! Much cheaper, much easier, and still do-able!!!! Yippee!!!!!!

as you know we got a contract on our house. Well today was the inspection. It didn't go too well from the sounds of it. After 3 hours the major needs are: new roof, cap for water heater, and lots of electrical deficiencies..... I don't understand, our roof is 7 yrs old and it looks 100% fine! On the positive my husband is an electrician so whatever "electrical deficiencies" there are he should be able to do himself. I know nothing about the water heater thing. So of course now I'm bummed.... very bummed.... I sure hope things will go through for us.

house hunting today was stressful, to say the least! We chose to look at 11 houses today and by the end of the day I'm not sure I remember what even half of the houses look like. On the disappointing side we had really hoped to move over to the Missouri side of the river and sadly that just isn't going to happen. We found only 1 house there that was remotely close to what we would like however my husband didn't like the backyard. In my opinion the house was amazing! Damn husbands! lol

Out of the 11 houses we kept 2 on our list but only 1 of those houses is move in ready. The other one sits on a 1.2 acre lot so it's hard to turn away from that one. The house is livable but there are a lot of things that we'd need to do to the home to make it like we would like, and of course those things cost money!

This Sunday we are off to look at the final 8 of our selections. I'm excited about these houses because most of them are fairly new, I'd say no older than 5 years.... wish us luck!

does this picture concern anyone else? Look at Angelina's collarbone, and her arms.... she is freakishly skinny. I am not a fan of Brangelina, shame on them for their love-lives. Obviously I'm Team Anniston. However I will admit that Brangelina do more than their fair share of helping others, with Angie's work in Africa and Brad in New Orleans..... good for them in that aspect. They have a lot of kids, and their biological kids are so freaking adorable! But damn girl, eat a cheeseburger (or two!).

House Hunters

I LOVE that show... HGTV, it's so much fun. Well my husband and I are getting our chance to do some house hunting tomorrow! We have a list of 20 houses to look at, quite a variety of houses too. Some have acreage and some have just a beautiful home and normal yard. My husband and I have no clue what we want, our dream of having land, or a neighborhood so our kids will have friends to play with. Our luck we'd choose a neighborhood and they'll be no kids near us! We have a total of 6 towns that we're looking in so I imagine it will take us a few days to get to all of these houses. Wish us luck! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Weighed myself this morning, GAINED a pound back! WTF!!!! How does that even happen, I did everything right! There is no happiness here this morning. Official weigh in is tomorrow, guess I'll be starving myself today and running 15 miles - yeah right.
