odd post

How many people out there keep in touch with girl friends? Or, how many people actually have any girl friends? Growing up I had a TON of female friends. Then in 8th grade... I know sounds lame.... but seriously, I showed up at school one day in the 8th grade and none of my friends would talk to me. They started barking at me, calling me names, and never talked to me again.... seriously, not until our senior year. These were girls that I had spent the last 4 years being as close as we young girls could be. It wasn't until my senior year when I finally asked one of the girls what ever happened back then. You know the answer....? In all honesty here is the answer, "because you didn't play sports, you rode horses". Are you kidding me? Because I opted to live my dreams with my horses meant that we couldn't be friends anymore. This same group of girls are all still very close to each other. In a way I think that it's sad. Have they grown up at all? Are they still the same "clique" that they were 10 years ago? I sure hope not!

Anyway, on to the point of this. I think that those days were the days that made me realize I didn't want any female friends. Girls were shady, conniving, b*tches! I had absolutely no use for these types of relationships. Even in my adult life I have found that most females I have befriended have been a "waste" of time. I have good memories from them but there are a lot of bad memories that just remind me of WHY I am done devoting time to these relationships!

Now now... guess that was harsh. I have a few lady friends that mean the world to me.... but they are very few! (love you Jen & Shannon!)

I guess there was a point to this. Sometimes I wonder if this blog has turned into my journal (duh wasn't that point?) But seriously, you ladies are my friends! Maybe it's because if you judge me you aren't telling me! lol But you all let me vent and dream or whatever I feel like doing and no one jumps in and tells me to quit my whining! And none of you bark at me! lol

Anyway, thanks for being my "people".... love my bloggie friends!

Wow Kristen, I could of written this post! I'm one of those women that have very few female friends. Only in the last year have I found a couple women who have become friends. I understand completely what your saying!! Hugs!

I have one girl friend (my bff) that I still talk to from high school. That's about it. The "popular" girls from high school still all hang out together back home because I see pics of them on Facebook sometimes. It makes me glad that I left and have grown up and met new people. I think I would feel stuck if I was still there.

But I seriously know what you mean about blog friends. I've never really been a girl-friend kind of girl...so "meeting" all of these wonderful blog friends is a nice surprise :)

I understand what you mean about blog friends. It feels odd- but I feel closer to a lot of bloggers than I do to some of my best "real friends." It is an interesting experience.

i totally know how you feel, im so glad we have been hanging out lately. without you i would really feel like i dont have any girl friends. people made fun of me in middle school and junior high for being "obsessed" with horses, they thought it wasnt cool or something. but those were some of the best times of my life, and i dont care if they didnt think i was cool! of course back then it sucked to have ur "friends" make fun of you. i think some girls dont have a lot of close girl friends because it hurts so much when the friendship ends or we are betrayed. guys dont take it so personally when they stop being friends with someone, but it sticks with girls for years and years. i still think about my bff's from way back in the day that i rarely speak to anymore. how did it happen that we arent friends anymore? and then you wonder if they miss you as much as you miss them, or if they even think about you anymore. just a part of life i guess, but i sure do love me some kristen!! = )

I had lots of "girlfriends" up until high school, then we grew apart. I had only 2 real girlfriends in school, but I had lots of guy friends, which got me called lots of names in school. These days I can count my friends on one hand. Its hard for me to open up to people and actually be able to trust them.

I have 2 girlfriends that I can say I will probably be friends with the rest of my life. Sadly, they both live elsewhere! I have other friends, but I've never had a BFF (besides my husband). I've just never had really close girlfriends. I wish I did!
