counting my blessings

I got woke up this morning at 6:30 by my phone ringing. It was my husband telling me that a worker on his job site was killed. He was just calling to let me know because it was on the news already and he didn't want me to worry. At 7:15 my husband walked into the bedroom and crawled into bed, I was so thankful to get more time with him. This is the 3rd person to be killed on this job, it terrifies me for him to work there. So just a reminder to everyone, always tell your loved one "I love you" before you part ways. I'm so thankful that every morning I get a kiss goodbye and an I love you, and I'm able to tell him to be careful. Take advantage of the time we have with each other! I sorta need this guy around!

my imagination is rolling

So my imagination has taken off recently. My husband and I own a 2nd home. It's a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, approx 900 sqft house. Currently it's being used as a rental, but that is sorta a pain in the butt and I'm not sure that I want to stay in the landlord business. The house is in great condition, bathroom and kitchen remodeled, it has a closed front porch, and a fenced in back yard. Now the yard isn't perfect because it has a pretty steep hill, but once you get down the hill it flattens out. Anyway, I'm rambling... to the point! Soooo..... I've seriously been considering opening a daycare. The house seems perfect for that. Both bedrooms are good sized, so there could be a toddler room and an infant room (for napping purposes). The kitchen is good sized so there could be a table for the kiddos to eat. Nice bathroom. The living room is a good size so there could be a tv for movies, and lots of room to play. Then the closed porch could also be set up for something, maybe arts & crafts or something? The house is on a quiet street and easy to get to. Here's the catch though, am I willing to have my days completely filled with children? My kids can be hard enough, but then add other peoples kids too? I have a few stay at home mom friends that may or may not be interested in helping by being one of the sitters. This is all very premature, but it sorta has me excited! Also, I'm 1/2 way done with completing my RN degree, so eventually I could work as an RN and also own this daycare.... lots to think about, what do you guys think?
And, am I ready to have my days filled like this????

damn KU!!!!! No matter the fail, I'm still a fan!

I have the best baby

not only is he super cute, but he is SO well behaved! Rarely cries! And when he's getting tired all I have to do is lay him in his crib and he puts himself to sleep. Is that a miracle or what? My older son was a good baby but he took more effort from me! Which was okay I still thought he was a great baby! So, the hubby and I are gonna try for 1 more (definitely not right now!) does this mean the 3rd one will be a nightmare?

perfect pasta pizza

8oz spaghetti, cooked, drained
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c fat-free milk
1/2 lb extra lean ground beef
1 can (14oz) tomato sauce, no salt added
1 env Good Seasons garlic & herb dressing mix
1 c Kraft 2% milk shredded reduced fat mozzarella cheese

(I could not find the good seasons dressing mix so instead I used Prego Roasted Garlic & Herb spaghetti sauce - 1/2 jar)
Toss spaghetti, egg and milk in large bowl. Spread evenly in greased 12-inch pizza pan.
Brown meat in medium skillet; drain. Stir in tomato sauce & dressing mix. Spoon over spaghetti crust. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Alright, beginning of this blog is last nights dinner:
Bruschetta 'n Cheese-Stuffed Chicken

1 can (14-1/2 oz.) Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
1-1/4 cups KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese, divided
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1 pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken
8 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (2 lb.)
1/3 cup KRAFT Roasted Red Pepper Italian with Parmesan Dressing

HEAT oven to 350ºF.

MIX tomatoes, 1/2 cup cheese and basil in medium bowl. Add stuffing mix; stir just until moistened.

PLACE 2 chicken breasts in large freezer-weight resealable plastic bag. Pound with meat mallet or side of heavy can until chicken is 1/4 inch thick. Remove from bag; place, top-sides down, on cutting board. Repeat with remaining chicken. Spread chicken with stuffing mixture. Starting at 1 narrow end, tightly roll up each breast. Place, seam-sides down, in 13x9-inch baking dish. Drizzle with dressing.

BAKE 40 min. or until chicken is done (165°F). Sprinkle with remaining cheese; bake 5 min. or until melted.

I had extra stuffing so I just sprinkled it over the top which worked well!

we got too hungry so we had to eat before I could take the final picture! lol

Alright, small update on life....

Tuesday: We had our first soccer practice which was just filled with irony. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, refer to my past blog titled "the smallest big town ever". (Jennifer I tried to take your directions but I must be an idiot cause it isn't working!) I got there with our 5yr old before most other parents. So I was standing down on the field watching them warm up, I turned around and saw my husband walking down the hill followed shortly by his ex & her mother. So the day was pretty cold, actually it was about 50 degrees but the wind was horrible so it felt more like 30. Hubby and I (along with all the other parents) opted to sit in our heated car and watch practice from there. So Hubs and I are chilling in my car with the baby with us, there is a car parked facing us but no one in it. That is of course until his ex & her mother get into the car. So needless to say, we're sitting in our cars staring straight at each other - talk about awkward! So, the irony continues. There are 12 kids on this team, 5 of which were on the team last season so my son already had some friends. Normally Logan just prefers to hang with the boys, they're all wild and can shove each other around.... on this occasion he picked none other than the little blonde girl that my husband once believed to be his daughter. Seriously? What are the odds? My son doesn't normally play with girls yet on the most awkward of days he picks the "wrong" girl to become friends with! And one last bit of irony, I guess I probably did not mention that the ex that I refer to, her name is also Kristen. I know I know, odd.

So enough of that... anyone watch American Idol? This season is incredible! I just cannot choose a favorite, it changes each week! As of last night my faves are, Matt, Adam, Danny, & Allison rocked it! Kris was pretty good too... my favorite has always been Megan but she was sorta disappointing last night! Hopefully her fans pulled through for her!

Definitely excited about watching Greys tonight, I feel like finally they're going somewhere with their story line! For awhile there I was getting kinda bored! And if Addison (Private Practice) says one more time that "I'm not a cheater" I'm gonna have to reach through the tv and smack her! Come on! We all know your history!

Hopefully dinner will be an interesting one tonight, if yes they'll be pictures tomorrow, if it fails, well don't count on pictures!

thank God tomorrow is Friday!

Here's Riley and his new favorite position... also today baby boy is 6 months old!

Yesterday was our realtor tour and it went GREAT! This weekend is the Spring Homes Tour and our house was originally going to be open on Saturday for it. After viewing the house yesterday the realtors have agreed that the home is too cute not to have open both days so we'll be featured on Saturday AND Sunday! I'm super excited!

So I was checking around online and found a site for foreclosed homes going up for auction today. They're all in Missouri. The starting bid for the majority of these houses was $1,000!!! Yes that's right, one thousand!!!!! Some of them were even $500! The value of the homes were like $179,000 - $400,000.... can you even believe that?! Unfortunately none of the homes were in the county that we want to be in, just our luck, but I was completely blown away by these starting bids!

This was absolutely amazing, I'm addicted!!!!! Enjoy!

my moment of weakness

This blog is not intended for people that I know to read, so for those of you who know me, please just read and pretend that we don't know each other. This isn't me reaching out for someone to talk to, it's just me writing to strangers who don't know me....

6 months ago this was me, holding my new baby boy who was less than 12 hrs old. The feeling can only be described but will never be understood until you have your own baby. A mother can never fully explain how much love is felt for her children. Every smile melts your heart, every giggle, every cry, sometimes those cries are unbearable. You can't stand to think or know that your child is hurting or sad.

So when children bring a person so much happiness, why is it that they can also leave you feeling so very sad and alone? My husband is definitely involved, he is the best form of support that a person could ask for. He loves his children, and he takes care of our family. Yet I still find myself sad, sometimes feeling like I have no one to talk to. I know, off the bat my sadness points to pdd.... but I'm being treated for that and still feel sad. I constantly pick myself apart, point out every single flaw of mine and never feel adequate for my husband. He gets so angry with me when I speak like this and he constantly tells me how wonderful I am and how in love he is and that he thinks that I am beautiful, but there is that side of me that won't believe him. What is wrong with me!?!?

So now onto a complete different subject. I watched Greys Anatomy last week and the end of it really affected me. Izy was getting admitted into the hospital and all of her friends had pulled together to be there for her. It got me thinking about my friends, and if something was to happen to me who would be there by my side. And the truth is, I don't feel as if I have any friends that are the type who would be there for me. Is it because we're "grown up" and are taking care of our own families? What has happened that has put the distance between us? I know that I have good friends, and those are the friends who don't demand that I speak to them daily, we can go weeks without talking but we know that the other is just busy and there is nothing personal. But I still find myself feeling like I'd be all alone in my time of need.

I think overall I'm just stressed. The amount of time that we have spent getting our house ready to be sold, I'm just exhausted. Then the stress of figuring out where we'll move to once the house sells.... and this is sorta off track again, but I have this obsessive worry about what will happen to my children if something happens to me, or to both my husband and I. I don't have god parents for my children, is this something that everyone does? Secondly, if something happens to just me, where is my oldest son going to end up? Back with his father? And then would my husband and baby ever get to spend time with him anymore? Will my sons ever get to know each other as brothers? And would my husband want the responsibility of keeping in touch with my oldest?

Why am I cursed with all of these damn worries? I just want to live life happily and ignorantly! lol I hate knowing what things can happen in life. I worked in the insurance field for 9 years and I look at most things in terms of the possible liability risks, I need to know what could happen.... I hate living like that!

So.... sorry for the downer, hopefully I didn't just throw everyone into a great depression! I'm fine, just needed to write out my mood that way I can just move on and try and continue the day with a brighter look on life!

yay for awards!!!!!

I got my first award!!! Who knew people read and actually liked what I'm writing!!!!! Thank you Another Day in paradise!http://www.blogger.com/profile/15332501442278988873

(sorry, I'm still blogger new so I don't know how to just write your name and that magically takes people to your page!)

Friday night...

last night my sis and I decided to make something new and exciting for dinner, so we came up with 2 recipes. Of course the 2 did not go well together, but they were both delicious! Here's the first one:

Bacon Cheeseburger Roll-up

1lb ground beef
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 lb (8oz) velveeta, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
1 pkg (13.8oz) refrigerated pizza crust

Heat oven to 400. Brown ground beef with bacon and onions in large skillet on medium-high heat; drain. Return mixture to skillet. Add Velveeta; cook until melted, stirring frequently. Cool 10 minutes.

Unroll dough onto baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Press into 15x8 inch rectangle; top with meat mixture. Roll up, starting at one of the long sides. Rearrange if necessary so roll is seam-side down.

Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown

And here's the second one:

Salmon Cakes

1pkg (6oz) stove top stuffing mix for chicken
3/4 c water
1/3 c mayo
2 cans (6oz each) salmon, drained, skin & bones discarded
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 c shredded mozz cheese
1/2 c chopped green onions

Mix all ingredients. Shape into 12 patties, using about 1/3 c of the stuffing mixture for each patty; cover. Refrigerate 1 hour.

Heat large nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium heat. Add patties to skillet in batches.

Cook 6 minutes or until golden brown on both sides, turning carefully after 3 minutes.

Also very good! I recommend having either cocktail or tarter sauce for dipping!

And to top the night off, we waited in line at Walmart for the midnight release, and I'm now the new (and proud!) owner of Twilight!!!! Which of course I stayed up until 3 am watching it!

are you kidding me?

My parents met each other at Blockbuster the other night to pick out a movie. When they walked outside to their cars my mom noticed the car next to hers was running and had a baby in the back seat. Baby was approx my baby's age, so less than 6 months old. Anyway, dad had my mom go on home and he hung around just to make sure nothing happened to the baby. After waiting outside for 10 minutes he went into Blockbuster and found the parents. They were very young parents. Anyway, my dad goes on to remind these parents that they have left their baby unattended in a running car, and the father starts mouthing off to my dad about how he needs to mind his own business, that it's his car, his baby, and they know if their baby is okay or not! My dad again reminded him about it being illegal to leave the baby like that, so the guy walked outside with my dad, and hit the lock button 3 TIMES, gave my dad a dirty look, and then turned around and went back into Blockbuster!!!!! Can you believe that?! So of course in response the little assholes behavior, my dad called the cops on him! Dad only hung around until the cops showed up and then he left so I have no clue what happened after that, but I'm just in total disbelief. Some people truly do not deserve to have children! There are so many people out there in the world who would give anything to have a baby of their own, yet they aren't able to, instead these idiots are allowed to. It makes no sense!

On a brighter note, my sis is coming over tonight to hang out. We're gonna make something spectacular for dinner, of course we have no idea what we're making yet.... I'd better start surfing the net for some ideas! Have a great weekend!

as promised!!!!

So.... after many.... many late nights, we finally had the realtor here today! The showing went great! Inside of the house is complete - wooh! Here's pictures, it may not look like much to some, but imagine this: You move into your husbands home, it's been a bachelor pad for 4 years, he never cleaned or painted, the master bedroom was 100% pepto bismol pink, lots of mice.... and I could continue to tell you how gross it was - but I'll spare my husbands feelings! We still have to do the landscaping outside this weekend, but the realtors will tour the house Tuesday and then next Saturday it's going to be shown in the Spring Homes Tours! Cross your fingers for me!!!!

Also, let me add.... I had a hell of a time trying to find curtains for my kitchen and laundry room, so I surprised myself (and everyone else) and made them myself!!!!!! Go me!!!

here's the living room....

The smallest bathroom ever, but oh so cute!

baby boy's room...

the big boy's room...

the master...

my amazingly cute laundry room!

more laundry room....

and a very tiny, yet adorable, kitchen!

excitement or doom?

That is the question of the hour. The realtor comes Thursday evening to take pictures and officially put our house up for sale. However, we still have no front steps, a hole in our bedroom door, a cluttered basement/garage, and then a TON of cleaning! I of course de-cluttered our closets so that I wouldn't be embarrassed when people look inside of them, however 1/2 of what came out of the closets is now hanging out in the hallway! One of my biggest concerns right now is that you can't come into the house using the front door because there are no steps, and tonight I'll be painting the concrete floor in our utility room, therefore we won't be able to use the back door because of the fresh paint... hmmm... anyone else see the problem? I guess we can just jump off the porch, it's only about 4 feet, but sorta hard to do with a baby and a 5yr old without anyone breaking their necks! So the hubby and I chatted last night and we agreed that we were sad that we had waited this long to finish & decorate the house, it took us putting it up for sale for us to make it look so nice & cute! I swear I have the cutest laundry room ever! As soon as I get the floor painted I'll post some pics, and once I have the kitchen looking like it isn't a storage room I'll post pics of that. I'm so happy with it all!!!!!
So there are my worries, I think overall I'm more excited than anything, but concerned that we won't have enough time to finish the projects & clean. Who needs sleep right?

Saturday, March 14, 2009

my oh my he's getting so big!

this picture is from December... isn't he adorable?!

and now this is from March... he's gotten SO big!

and then of course this picture from tonight.... you can't help but just absolutely LOVE this baby, he is the sweetest most loving baby ever!

Friday, March 13, 2009

Well here it is Friday afternoon, I am soooo happy that the weekend is here! We have a ton of work to do to our house. I know I've mentioned it before but we're getting ready to put our house on the market so we're trying to make it perfect! We have new concrete being poured tomorrow and then new front steps.... I should be done painting the trim in our laundry room today and then up goes the cabinet, got to finish some touch up painting around the house, pray the weather warms up some so we can get some plants in the ground, and then we have a major job ahead of us as we de-junk our garage/basement!

Here's my dogs, they've got the right idea.... sure wish I could spend my afternoon and weekend like this!

sleepless night

Last night was the first night -atleast as far back as I can remember- that I was up the majority of the night with a baby that was actually miserable. I've sat up with babies that can't breathe well so we sleep together in the recliner, but this was pure misery. Poor baby boy was up atleast once an hour, I'd go in to put his plug (aka pacifier) back in his mouth and he would just cry/scream. So I'd pick him up to cuddle and rock, this was one of those times where he wanted me to hold him, but he didn't want me to hold him. It's pretty hard to make a baby happy under those conditions! It was a very sad night, I felt completely helpless holding this screaming baby and not knowing what was wrong and not being able to comfort him. So baby boy woke up this morning around 8am with horrible diahrrea and a fever.... though I seem to be the only one who is affected by the lack of sleep because here is what baby boy is looking like today

Here are a couple other pics of the boys, they're too cute not to share!

Here's the baby boy in his jeans.... I just love baby denim!

the men watching college basketball

argh! I'm gonna eat this elephant!!!!!

hopping Riley

Here's my adorable baby boy!!!!

I've been tagged!

What you do, is go to your file folder marked "pictures", open the 6th folder, then choose the 6th photo and tell the story behind it.

Well.... This is July of '08 for one of my closest friends bachelorette party! Andrea (bachelorette) is in the middle. I was 7 1/2 months pregnant!!!!! Normally I wouldn't go to a bachelorette party while prego (sorry I missed yours Liz) but since the bride was ALSO prego I figured it was acceptable! Very fun night for old friends to get together and eat and play games!

I just want to vent...

I am so f-ing tired of people. I think it's becoming people in general. But I'm tired of "friends" being so fake. Maybe it's PMS, I don't know, but man I'm irritated! A friend of mine is throwing a jewelry party, she invited mutual friends of ours including my bestie, but didn't invite me.... which I found sorta strange. So I of course question her to see if she's upset with me, and the answer I get was "I'm not mad at you, I didn't invite you because you don't wear the jewelry so why would send an invite. Nothing to be mad about". Sorta sounds like BS to me. And seriously, we're friends, who cares if you think I won't/don't wear the jewelry, maybe I would have enjoyed a couple of hours with the girls! And might I add, I have bought her jewelry before and I wear it frequently! My need to move and meet new people and "start a new life" is growing stronger. I'll be honest, I don't enjoy going to a store and seeing a familiar face around every corner. Maybe if those people were trustworthy people it would be different. I'm ready to get more friends who have families, who are family oriented, whose families come first before going out and partying. I can't even tell you how many people have conveniently become busy since we had our baby, so busy that we haven't seen them in 6 months, that they have never seen our baby. That just pisses me off beyond belief. People who have been our friends for 15+ years..... it's ridiculous.

So ok, there it is, I've vented and bitched, and I feel a little bit better! Thanks for listening!

This pic represents pretty much how I'm feeling!

the smallest big town EVER

Part 1:
When my husband was 19/20, the girl that he was dating told him that she was pregnant, and it was his baby. So my husband stuck by her, went through everything with the mom, lamaz classes and labor itself, signed the birth certificate and everything. He had a baby girl. Then about 2 months later things weren't going well with him and the mother, lots of arguing, just being young parents didn't help anything. Well all of the doubts that he'd had for the last year caught up with him and he had a paternity test done. Turns out, baby girl was not his baby girl. So needless to say he and the mother broke up. For about 2yrs he would occasionally stop by to see the baby, he babysat her when the mother needed help, etc. This was 7yrs ago. Over time the mother has reached out to my husband for money, she thinks he owes her something. Up until 2 weeks ago, we even provided health insurance for the girl.

Part 2:
My ex-husband dated a gal after we got divorced. She has a son with one of our friends. This woman absolutely fell in love with my ex (after only dating for like 3 weeks). She declared her love for him to the world, explained how she was the man of her dreams and life would be perfect. Needless to say the relationship lasted maybe another 2 or 3 weeks.

Part 3:
My son plays soccer. He is about to start the spring season. I got an email from our coach this morning, in the email was a list of the names of the kids and their parents that we would be teammates with. Low and behold, My husbands ex's daughter is on our team. AND, my ex-husbands ex's son is on our team. Talk about an awkward experience for everyone. I can honestly say, I'm dreading this soccer season....

hectic hectic Friday!

Today was a busy but quite fun day! We have a new buddy who has been hanging out with us, isn't he cute?So I'm getting the hang of this 3 kid thing, I'm using this as practice for when we have our 3rd one. But I tell ya getting 3 kids in & out of carseats is not easy, nor is it fast! So just to make things a little bit more exciting, I went ahead and took on my 3 nieces today too. Luckily they were just for the afternoon. So here's what my afternoon looked like, all this picture is missing is the baby.

After Mr Matthew left, I thought I could go on a walk with the other 5 kids, plus the 2 dogs. So imagine, me, pushing a stroller while holding onto a lab and a boston terrier, with 4 other kids running around. I'm sure the people driving past us must have thought I was insane, that and that I need to practice a better form of birth control! ha!

Lucky for me my sister is returning the favor and my hubby and I get to go out on a date tonight. It'll be nice to get out with no kids and no friends, just an evening with me and him! I desperately need it!

Delicious Dinner!

Last night I made a shrimp and wild rice casserole. It was one of my most favorite meals! My husband works construction and they all take turns bringing food in, this meal received the ultimate compliment. "This is so good you could make it to bring into the guys!". This also came from the man who doesn't like shrimp! I got the recipe from http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/.

shrimp and wild rice casserole
1 pkg wild rice
1 lb medium shrimp, peeled & deveined

2 tbsp butter
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 onion, chopped
1 10 3/4 oz can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 c grated sharp cheddar cheese
salt & pepper

Cook the rice according to package directions, minus 1/4 c water. Let cool.

Bring 2 c water and 1/2 tbsp salt to a boil in a medium saucepan and cook the shrimp for 1 minute. Drain immediately and set aside.

Heat the butter in saucepan and saute the pepper and onion until soft, about 5 minutes.

Preheat oven to 325.

In a large bowl, combine the rice, soup, 1 1/2 cups of cheese, shrimp and vegetables. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Spray 11x7 glass casserole dish with vegetable spray. Place the mixture in the pan and top with remaining 1/2 c cheese. Bake for 30 minutes, until bubbly.

AI - team Megan!!!!

Ok guys, I'm a huge fan of Megan Corkrey, she made it to tomorrow nights wild card show!!! GOTTA VOTE!!!!!!

Wednesdays Dinner

Taco Pizza

1 lb ground beef
1 pkg Taco Dinner
1 prepared pizza crust (12")
1 c Mexican style shredded cheese
1 c shredded lettuce
1 large tomato, chopped

PREHEAT oven to 400. Cook meat with taco seasoning mix as directed on package; spread evenly onto pizza crust. Sprinkle with cheese.
BAKE 8-10 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.
TOP with lettuce and tomatoes. Crush taco shells; sprinkle over pizza. Drizzle with salsa.

This meal was just "ok". I did not fully read the recipe so I did not buy the taco dinner package, I only bought taco seasoning - which means I did not have taco shells sprinkled on the top or salsa. It was still a good dinner, but the child wasn't crazy about it. The best part of this was the pizza crust, I bought a Boboli crust, oh so delicious!!!!

There are signs of life!

yes it's true! There are little flowers sprouting up in our yard, now I'm sure they're weeds but does it really matter? At this point I'm gonna vote no! AND! My tulips are starting to peek out too! The snow is nearly gone, grass is turning green, man I can't wait for summer!

I have no hair left...

Well atleast I feel like I should have pulled it all out! The little man is so fussy today I can't make him happy. He doesn't want to be on the floor, he doesn't want me to hold him, he doesn't want me to rock him to sleep, but he doesn't want to put himself to sleep. I feel like I should go to a bar tonight and drink my frustrations away, but in reality I know I'll stay and try and comfort the crabby child. I'm just thankful that the hubby is home and can give me a little r&r time!
Over the weekend I bought a bikini.... oh so sexy... that is until I put it on! lol I got the bikini and a cute little dress for our cruise, went ahead and worked out today. This time I was able to do all 40 minutes of the workout video, and I LOVED it! There is a kickboxing section, I'm all about that, so much fun! Anyway, still have a lot of work to do before I'm bikini ready but I'm bound and determined to make it happen! Which of course means that today we're finishing the last of the Dr Pepper and the cookies in the house that way there are no more temptations!
Hope everyone had a great weekend and atleast an ok Monday....

a day of happiness & sadness

Well today was our 1yr anniversary, and it was wonderful! The hubby surprised me with a beautiful necklace & matching earrings.... here's a pic, though it does them no justice...

I felt guilty because all I got him was a card and some "I love daddy" pacifiers (long story).... my reasoning for this simple gift was because we had agreed no gifts! We're taking our honeymoon in 97 days so that is our gift to each other! Well he cheated... though I won't say I'm too upset! :) Of course we had to pull out the top layer of our wedding cake, but it's sorta sad looking so it's becoming more of a "I dare you to try it!" type of thing!

To celebrate the day we watched a movie last night, PS I Love You, has anyone seen that? The funniest thing happened during that movie. For those who have seen it, near the beginning Hilary Swank is dancing around her apartment in her deceased husbands boxers and shirt, and she's singing a song (very off key).... our dog Cosmo actually started howling! ha! This is a dog who we've never heard howl! Here's a pic of my baby Cosmo with Logan, she's just the cutest thing!

So.... to finish off our romantic day, we ate at Longhorn Steakhouse, you must try the Parmesan Crust Chicken... it's to die for! I promise everyone now that I will figure out how to make it and then post the recipe! That's my newest challenge for myself. So, after dinner, off we headed to Petsmart to get a snail for Logan's fish tank.... and here comes the part of the sadness.... we got back home and added the snail to his 4 new roomies, when we noticed there were only 3 roomies.... poor Scooby Doo is gone, though which Scooby he is we aren't sure since he named them all Scooby! Luckily the snail earned the name of Shaggy instead. Ok, so I'm sidetracked... poor Scooby has "gone to the farm", though we honestly don't know where he is! He was there a few days ago, and today - poof, gone! - no remains left to this poor critter!

Alright well I should get going and get some kiddos to bed. One last note, do NOT waste your time watching Burn After Reading. Seriously, Brad Pitt & George Clooney, what a let down. Though Brad, I'm just not feeling you as much these days, Angie ruined you.... I am definitely TEAM ANISTON!!!!
